Badlands

Badlands National Park, South Dakota

We had been to the Black Hills for a mini family reunion. On our way home we decided to visit the Badlands. I was so glad we did. In fact, I almost liked this better than the Black Hills. We saw big horned sheep, herds of buffalo and what I thought was some very unique scenery.

I chose this image because of the different colors in the rocks. After viewing the photograph someone asked me if the white on the rocks was snow and of course I told them that it was just the color of the rocks. I hadn't even considered it might be snow because I had been there and knew that the picture was taken in August. What an interesting perspective!
