| Valley of the Gods, Utah, Valley of the Gods is a miniature Monument Valley with massive red spires and buttes overlooking the desert floor, remnants of an ancient sandstone plateau that covered the area 50 million years ago. It truly is one of Utah's best kept secrets. We had visited Monument Valley the day before and were surprised when we went to Valley of the Gods, some 40 miles away. The area was isolated, void of traffic and people. This was a great opportunity for both driver and passenger to be captivated by the attractions. Then the clouds started rolling in and we just barely made it out before it started raining. What a lucky break! |
