| River of Iron, Red Mountain Creek, Ghost
Town of Ironton, Colorado We were having a wonderful time in Colorado exploring the many sights near Ouray and Silverton, Colorado. One of our many stops was the ghost town of Ironton located 6 miles north of Ouray and 8 miles south of Silverton. As I wandered around the town taking pictures I heard a sound that at first seemed foreign to me. Then I thought, "that sounds like water!" I began to make my way toward it. When I came to the bluff I saw this creek with iron colored deposits on the rocky shore. The view looking toward the mountain was stupendous and as usual I couldn't resist. |
