| RED LADY #1, Red Mountain Pass, Ouray, Colorado Red Mountain is a series of three peaks located in the San Juan Mountain range approximately 5 miles south of Ouray, Colorado. This particular mountain is Red Mountain number 1. They are often referred to as the Red Ladies. I had seen another artist's version of this mountain in Ouray. I thought it was a very exciting image and I couldn't wait to create my own. When I arrived the sun was just perfect however, by the time I set up my tripod the best light had passed. Needless to say, I was more than happy to go back a second time as I was absolutely enthralled with the area. |
